FREE hourly seminars offer instruction, inspiration and entertainment something we call Edutainment! It’s a great way to expand your abilities, increase you confidence at the helm and learn how to make the most of your time on the water. This year we'll offer instruction both on the water and in the classroom.

Ladies, Let's Go Fishing! Learn to Fish Workshop

Saturday, September 7,

Ladies, join us for a day of fishing fun and networking. Learn fishing strategy and techniques, practice skills, and meet other women who like to fish at this “No Yelling School of Fishing”. Hands-on instruction covers inshore/bay fishing, knot tying, casting and more. No equipment or experience required. Show entry/certificates/gifts value approx. $100 included. 

 Hosted by Betty Bauman, Founder of Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing. Speakers and instructors include Capts. Leiza Fitzgerald, Pamela Wirth, Lori Deaton, Alice Trautman, Stacy Horak, Rachel Nobbe, Stewart Ames and others.

Workshop fee: $49 per person in advance $59 the week of the show. Pre-registration required. Register HERE.

10 AM–11:30 AM: Early Bird bay cruise hosted by Freedom Boat Club. Meet your fellow anglers for an eco-tour of the local waters. For registered participants only. First come, first served. Capacity limited.

11 AM–11:30 AM: Check in—Room 18
12 PM–1 PM: Lunch, networking introductions, and welcome by Betty Bauman, Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing Founder
1 PM–2 PM: Rod/reel basics, Conservation (Betty Bauman, Misty Wells and Leiza Fitzgerald)
2 PM–3 PM: How to fish the Tampa Bay Area—fishing secrets and tips revealed! Led by Capt. Leiza Fitzgerald
3 PM–3:30 PM: Break and raffle—win cool fishing stuff!
3:30 PM–4:45PM: Hands-on practice with guides for knots, hook to line/lure, line to leader, casting
4:45 PM–5 PM: Walk to Happy Hour
5 PM–6 PM: Happy Hour/Networking—Enjoy beer, wine, sodas and snacks, courtesy of Freedom Boat Club

Located in the Ballroom 1st Level

Feel the strike! Watch the rod bend! Experience the pull as your fish runs for the bottom! This interactive fishing simulator is as "reel" as it gets without getting your line wet. Will you land your trophy fish? Or just tell the tale of how it got away? Stand shoulder-to-shoulder and enjoy a friendly competition with your fishing partner to see who can land the big one.

Children younger than age 13 can participate in the virtual reality activation with parent's onsite permission.
